INSIDEOUT the Bigg Market
fotografante presents the first edition photobook INSIDEOUT the Bigg Market, by emerging photographer Pierfrancesco Celada. The edition is a result of the first part of an ongoing project investigating entertainment in the United Kingdom during these times of recession. The images represented in the book are available to purchase in limited edition prints.
The images in the Bigg Market series capture the city from its grand facades to its peeling vacant shop fronts, the takeaway window and the debris of urban life. Against this backdrop, Celada has given us these scenes from life. He has captured laughter, and friendship, vulnerability and isolation. But it is the tension in the encounters that Celada has captured that is most revealing of the frailty of the human condition an ultimately of the uncertainties of our time.

I lived in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the North East of England, for over three years. Since my arrival I have been fascinated and attracted to the colourful expression of the way locals entertain themselves; very different from my own experience.
